This badge is on E-Stand right now: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=935999
Per "Hitlers Politische Generäle" by Karl Höffkes Carl Röver had 10545. Can anyone confirm either way ?

I add my sincerest "RIP John" to your note, Andreas. We do miss him.
HH auctioned this GPB from John's collection; it's a real beauty. I see that there is disagreement as to Röver's NSDAP Membership Number...Our colleague Michael Miller lists Röver's number as 10544 in his reference book. Perhaps Mike can add a word of clarification here, if he knows why this discrepancy exists?

I couldn't locate any Golden Party Badges on Brent Smith's website; perhaps it's already sold? There does seem to be a bit of confusion regarding Röver's NSDAP Membership Number:
I understand that Karl Höffkes refers to Röver holding NSDAP Membership Number 10545 in his reference work, "Hitlers politische Generale, Die Gauleiter des Dritten Reiches" (Grabert-Verlag, Tübingen, 1986 and 1997), and David Lyne-Gordon apparently picked that number up in his English language version based upon Höffkes' work titled "Hitler’s Political Generals: The Gauleiters," Vol. 1 (Military Press, UK, 2001). I also have a note that Mike Miller originally listed Röver's NSDAP Number as 10545 on his longstanding website, "Axis Biographical Research," and Mike may have also used Höffkes' work to base that upon. However, when Hermann Historica listed certain articles from John Pepera's massive GPB collection for auction, they stated that badge number 10544 had been held by Karl Röver, which I assume came from John's notes on his badges.
Again, I hope others her can provide further facts to clarify this question. (I imagine that one of us could ask Rob McDivitt or Mike Constandy to check the NSDAP Membership Records at the NARA and see what the official files have to say?!)

Mr McDivitt and I had been in communication regarding this badge prior to it's being offered. The official files say that its Röver's. Hence, it's being offered as Röver's.

Dear friends,
This afternoon I sent an email note to Rob McDivitt, inquiring about the Karl Röver NSDAP Membership Number, and he has responded that it is definitely 10544. Rob also mentioned that the next number -- 10545 -- was held by Röver's wife, Irma, though he didn't say whether she held the GPB or not. (From the Patzwall reference book, we know that she didn't receive the AH Honorary GPB, so if she held it, it was because she was entitled to it by her membership number.) So this puts this particular subject to bed, once and for all, IMHO!
Special thanks to TxGauleiter for his perseverance!
Cheers,
Br. James

Please if any member knows the location of Hiebels GPB, number 14297 drop me a line, thank you

No problems BR James. They are out there, probably just not in our circles, so have to wait it out and be patient.
