The eagle pattern was not introduced in 1936, but 1937 with order F 2b 13736 from the OSAF and published as such in June 1937. Actual introduction June 28. The 1936 eagle has shorter wings.

It is for this reason that I wrote the "so called M36"...
In France this type of eagles are very often called "Modèle 36", even if, as said, in the real live it's a 1937 distributed insignia.
Thanks again

not for insignia, nor for headgear or whatever. This indication was "invented" after the war.
Phrasing it as Modèle 36 is of course not correct. If you like it it should be "Modèle 37"!Last edited by Pascal Bernhard; 02-04-2019, 07:43 AM.

Thanks for your time & help.
By the way, the manufacturer of the eagle was Matthias Öchsler & Sohn from Ansbach. This company was assigned the RZM number M1/14. The company still exists today: https://www.oechsler.com/en/company-group/history/

I would wait to get a larger wingspan eagle as the holes on your Käpi are not for this type of narrower wingspan ?
If you want to restore it as Elsass it will be also a lot more logical for the period represented : 1940-45 .
The larger eagle is even a lot more easy to find ! During normal commercial times …
