Of interest is that it was also the scene of an assassination attempt on Hitler during his Nov. 8, 1939 Putsch celebration speech. Fortunately for him, he finished his speech early before the time bomb went off but it caused extensive damage as seen in the below photo.

I was at a bookstore one day and was reading a book about Hitlers SS field commanders....a large coffeetable format book by Schiffer. One annecdote related to Hitler having lunch in the field and he requested what was referred to as a favorite provincial, low alcohol, Pilsner called "Fachinger". I looked into it and found references to a well known mineral water by that name. I was curious too as to whether there was a brewery by that name that did, in fact, make a low alcohol Pilsner that Hitler liked as I knew he was a tee totaller.

Right you are, Richard. I believe there is a Marriott Hotel now standing on the site where the Bürgerbräukeller once stood.

At the site now is the Hilton Munich City (where I stayed many times when in professional life):

From there one can walk down the Rosenheimer Strasse to trace the marchers' route to the FHH. Many of the original buildings along the route still stand.
