A nice photo card Andreas and if you listen carefully you can almost hear the echoes coming from a cold November night a year earlier.

Right you are, Erich, and perhaps that's the bullet hole in the ceiling which was fired from a pistol to get the attention of the crowd that night...?!

That is a wonderful token. I have not seen one before and would love to add one to my collection.

I'm curious about this too as I thought he was a teetotaller.

I was at a bookstore one day and was reading a book about Hitlers SS field commanders....a large coffeetable format book by Schiffer. One annecdote related to Hitler having lunch in the field and he requested what was referred to as a favorite provincial, low alcohol, Pilsner called "Fachinger". I looked into it and found references to a well known mineral water by that name. I was curious too as to whether there was a brewery by that name that did, in fact, make a low alcohol Pilsner that Hitler liked as I knew he was a tee totaller.

At the site now is the Hilton Munich City (where I stayed many times when in professional life):

                              http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/bav...HTW/index.html

From there one can walk down the Rosenheimer Strasse to trace the marchers' route to the FHH. Many of the original buildings along the route still stand.

                              Great thread by the way.

Of course you're right, Mike, and I knew that, too; don't know why I wrote "Marriott Hotel!" Thanks for the correction.
