In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

I have seen brand new looking mugs with the same design being sold in Poland.

Since this beer hall was in existence for a long period of time, I would assume they had multiple styles of steins over the years. Is there a way to tell from which timeframe any particular stein was in use?

I have a copy of Stars and Strips from 1945 that shows GIs drinking beer out of the ceramic Steins pictured in 1945.

              Nice steins shown here.
Of the 3 steins Bob is showing, im pretty sure the right one with the 0.5l is a modern stein.
The originals should have the big "L" and no small "l" ..there are also diffrences in the pewter lid and the writing.

              Here is another modern example.

Usually the originals steins are still available and sell for 30-50€

The makers mark is of "Merkelbach & Wick"

I kinda have a fantasy that Hitler sipped beer from my stein on the night of the 8th of Nov 1923.
