    Jon,
Your example is missing the castle on the top of the badge.

          Dear friends,

Watch your mailboxes -- the latest issue of "Military Advisor" arrived here yesterday and it includes a fine article entitled "At Coburg I Made History!", by Jeff Hanson. The article also includes a photo of the tinnie currently being discussed...with castle top!

          Cheers,

          Br. James

Variant 1 - Mit Hitler in Coburg
Variant 2 - Hitler in Coburg
Variant 3 - Hitler was in Coburg (probably post-war production)

Here is my 1932 Coburg example that I got from Pepera a while back for doing some research on the pistols he had bought.

Yellowish color is from the lighting. It has a silver finish like Erich's.

Yes, a very good article indeed by member Jeff Hanson on the Battle, politics and the CB. Worth getting a copy for anyone interested in the events of Oct 1922.

Jeff featured photos of many items from my collection for the article.

The article is excellent, well written, and illustrated beyond my hopes. It is a must have issue of MILITARY ADVISOR.

Looks like the Coburg badge with unusual pin replacement on Weitze for 8500 Euros may have sold. I no longer see it on the site.

Am I the only one that sees through the bull**** here? Now offered on estand without mention the part of it is missing.
                        Ridiculous!

                          Matt,

I honestly think Jon was kidding when he said that his badge was a variant and
I'm sure that he knows that his badge had been modified.

So the tower kept catching on the guys shirt and he decided to eliminate the problem but not the badge. Who knows. It was broken along a precise angle in the stamping so it could have been done without damage.

Oh dear, English humour falls on barren ground once again!
I'm sorry you feel it is 'ridiculous' I hadn't really considered to mention the obvious, bit like saying 'EK2 , no swastika' plus I mentioned the Coburg link for perspective buyers to look at.
I'll go and amend the listing though as I don't wish to portray the image that I am creating a cloud of, as you put it, bullsXXX.
