Were all editions of Schwede-Coburg's book, "Kampf um Coburg," identical in content or did the content change with each publishing date? According to the out-of-print bookseller I use, all three editions -- 1939, 1941 and 1943 -- contained the same number of pages -- 256.

    Thanks for any response! Cheers,

    Br. James

Hi Br James, interesting idea about the content. I also wonder if the dust cover was added to all editions. Somewhere along this 102 page thread i posted the (very interesting) dust cover that somewhere popped up during a google search a few years ago. It is the only time ever i've found it. I've seen a few dozen of the books over time, but never ever with dust cover. Any ideas?

      best regards,
      Gaston

While there are many copies of the three editions of "Kampf um Coburg" available via the out-of-print booksellers...and often at considerably lower cost than copies offered by the militaria dealers...none of them appear to include the dust jacket/cover. This is not particularly unusual, of course; most of the editions of MK, Göring's biography and Rosenberg's "Myth of the 20th Century" are offered without jackets, but we know that they all originally had them. So too with the six editions of "Reichstagung in Nürnberg," and we know that each of them also came with a dust jacket.

The book with the dust cover is almost impossible to find. Here is a photo of the dust cover.

Great to see this, Erich -- many thanks! Is this cover from the 1939 edition? Do you know if all three editions had the same dust jacket, or did they change the jacket with each edition? (From a commercial point of view, it would seem to be the right thing to do, to change the dust jacket with each publishing, even if the contents remained the same!!)

              Cheers,

James, the dust cover is from the 39 edition but not sure if the same one was used for all editions but it makes sense that most likely the same ones were used.

A cool photo but unfortunately not mine from the 33 putsch anniversary showing both Maurice and Grimminger wearing their Coburg Badges but still too early for the Blood Order which was to be a awarded a year later.

Br. James, my 1943 Christmas present copy is marked as the 4th Auflage, so another date is around or there were two editions in one year like the Org Buch.

Thanks for posting that photo Erich, was it an image from the Internet? I spot Hans Schoen who one of my Blutorden belonged to. Any idea what the neck chain on some of the guys is? Some kind of Munich town hall office chains perhaps??

Good question where the location is from this great photo.
Not sure what the number of the one shown SS collar really is. 1 or 3 Munich Nuremberg.

I assume its might Munich 1935 Ludendorff March.
But I wonder about the many chains, aren't those mayor chains?

Hi Robert, is it possible this is a Stoßtrupp march?
And yes that look like maybe city councilman Munich chains or something like that ....

Jon, I believe you are correct, these do appear to be related to the Munich city government. I know Grimminger was a Munich City Councilor and Maurice was the chairman of the Munich Chamber of Commerce. Perhaps they were also part of the organizer's committee of the 1933 Putsch event?

I wonder if the fellow on left of Emil could be his brother, as he had at least one and possibly two brothers in the SS. They look like they might be related. Nice to see a few of the old fighter's wearing the Coburg Badge indeed.

One more from the same anniversary event in 1933 in front of the Burger Brau Keller.

Just curious if anyone else thinks that is a holster with the gun butt protruding on Maurice's belt? He was a member of the bodyguard at this time and would have been authorized to carry? Or is it something else?
