This looks bad to me. Allenstein was NOT an NPEA School and the triangle is NOT an NPEA one IMO. IF the tunic is period, the insignia was added and the boards don't appear to be good either-piping appears too thick to me.

I agree, period tunic and pants it appears, but "restored" with questionable insignia... The gebiets dreieck is questionable...I would have prefered seeing a BeVo one... and I don't like the quality of the embroidered NPEA letters either....
I also have never seen NPEA insignia on such a uniform... These students had distinct brown (political color) uniforms, as posted my an earlier member...
So either the movie got it wrong and this piece was restored incorrecty based on that or
perhaps the NPEA brown uniforms (with SS sleeve eagles) were introduced later?

The Prewar Uniform Was A Political Brown Tunic With N P E A School Triangle And N P E A Shoulder Boards. During The War, The Student And Instructor's Uniforms Changed To An Olive Drab Color With The Wear Of A Sleeve Eagle Similar To The S S Eagle But It Was Unique. Somewhere, I Have Pictures Of The 2nd Pattern Student's Tunic With The Odd Sleeve Eagle. I Will Post Them If I Can Find Them.

According to Littlejohn's HJ book the only NPEA students that wore a dark uniform similar to the one that started this thread are very young "DJ" Deutsche Jugend pupils (age 10-14) and their NPEA shoulderboards were the narrow ones as shown in Ron Weinand's post (bottom left corner of display)with the letters spelled left to right in one line...
and according to Littlejohn's book the schools, as displayed in post 17 insignia, are listed... but NOT Allenstein NPEA school...(confirming an earlier post)
so this might indeed be a movie prop piece!

              NPEA uniform in wear

I saw this photo of an NPEA student floating around a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember where I copied it from so I'm not able to cite the owner for which I apologize.

This Is An Old Photo I Had In My Files Of A NPEA Student's Sleeve Eagle. The Tunic And Breeches Were For A Young Man, Likely Of Dj Age. This Should Dispell Any Notion That The HJ Or DJ Uniform Was Worn At The NPEA Facilities. If You Saw This Eagle On A Table At A Military Show, Would You Think It Authentic?

Thanks for the pics, deffinately ones I dont see often. I wouldn't have given that first eagle a second look... This last pic of the tunic shoulder board, is the lettering/piping white, it appears to be more of a cream color?

Thanks for all the pics and inputs. I'll post some pics of the cap too. That one is also weird. One collector said that it has an SA cut to it. Have a great Sunday.
