Here is another photo of the same soldier in 1943. Assuming that he is still with Panzer Rgt. 1, it is possible that this was

Nice portrait pic of Pz Rgt 1 soldier. I believe you are right on the tropical uniform of the second pic. I have a photo album of Pz Rgt 1 and in there are pics of when the regiment was transferred to Greece. They wore a mixture of uniforms as well (Tropical tunics with Pz trousers). - Bill
