Extremely rare photos. You almost never see NCO's tresse on black wraps of any service. It looks like he may have taken the tresse and tabs off another uniform since it comes up short on the collars.
The other guy not only is missing the tabs, but he has field gray boards that don't appear to have piping, and a panzer M-42...all very unusual. Thanks for sharing these rare examples.
Panzer Regiment 2 ---photos of same man
wedding portrait was an earlier photo, but on the later Obergefreiter photo, he wears numbered boards

Panzermann of IV/ Pz.-Ers. Abt. 100
Panzer Ersatz Abt 100 took part in Normandy, also noted for there stand at La Fière bridge
It was an odd "Unit". If you ever take a look at their Tank inventory, you will know what I mean. Thats why I chose to buy this photo
Could it be FRONSAC ? a small village near Bordeaux in France. but don't know if any german tank unit was stationnated there in 1941.
Hi Jacques,
Thanks for the help. It looks like Fronsac to me too. I didn't know it was the name of a town. How far is it from Bordeaux? Maybe he was stationed in Bordeaux and was just touring around the nearby villages.
