            i think they're both the same, EKII it seems. Soldiers often had ribbons 'doubled up' like that when wearing their ribbon bars
            Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

              But they are the EKII, right? The middle part of the ribbon struck as so black.

                sorry for the silly question but do the numbers on the epaulettes represent the regiments these men belong to, e 4 = 4th Panzer Regiment?

                  You are correct in your thinking, the "4" does represent the number of the Regiment.
