                Generally most soldiers were buried in the country where they fell....except maybe at the beginning of the war. I have heard of cases where some officers and other ranks were taken home to be buried but have not seen any hard evidence of this occuring.

                  portraithunter, Thanks for sharing these photos! Is there any date mentioned for the funeral? If so it may help narrow down the fallen pilot? Also it looks like Oak's with the RK, Hard to tell? Can You look at the photo and see?
                  If the Pilot had the Oaks it would certainly help narrow down the Fallen Man!

                    Thanks for the flowers.
                    And thanks for help. The photos before are from 1941.
                    It is realy untypical to bury a high rank officer not in his home town.
                    I hope to find more information anytime.
