Two photos from my collection taken in 1945 by a GI (from an artillery unit).
Do you think that the scene takes place in Germany ?

Nice Capture photos. The architecture could be french...possibly southern France Thanks for sharing them here.

Here are several new POW photos...first is probably a captured DAK Soldier...reverse of the postcard states Camp Swift, Texas.

          hi bill,

very nice photos, especially the two showing the german POW hockey team.

i went through this interesting thread yesterday and could'nt believe my eyes when i read post # 459.

the camp does not show a camp in texas but camp CONCORIDA / KANSAS.
one picture even shows the same officer i posted at #446, 447.

i dup up my pictures and managed to find out some prisoner's names.

nr. 1) Major Schaaf. he was commander of company #1
nr. 2) Oberleutnant Ebertshäuser, comm. comp # 3
          nr. 3) Oberzahlmeister Osterbäuer

the band you showed belonged to the former grengrmt, i think most prisoners were caught in afrika. some pictures of my collection are dated "nov 43, jan 44"....

if you ever decide to sell these pictures just let me know as you know my greatgrandfather was lagerführer at this camp.....

do you have more pictures of this camp??

          kind regards,

          stefan

            Hello Stefan,

I went back and took a look at your posting of your Great Grand-father and I was surprised to see who your great Grand-Father was. I had bought three photos from Thomas Hartmann who stated the DK winner was a POW from the same camp and had been with Sonderverband 267. I paid him 45 EUROS for the photos after I won all those others (from Mr. Hartmann) on ebay and posted them in this thread. At the time I thought they were taken in Texas but as you pointed out they were taken in CONCORDIA KANSAS. Much to my dismay those three photos never arrived and after repeated emails Mr. Hartmann no longer replies to me. So It appears that I have now joined the ranks of countless others that have been ripped off by this dealer. Bill

              dear bill,

i am sorry to hear that. where the three pictures of my greatgrandfather all taken in front of the "lagerführer" barracks?
if yes i can email you high quality scans of these three pictures. with a good printer they wouldn't look worse than the original ones.

my greatgrandfather was lt.colonel hans hörtnagl and served in the IIIrd bataillon of gebjgrmt 756. he earned the DKiG in afrika, but i dont know for what deeds.
didn't you mention you've some photos of the 756th gebjrmt?

              regards,
              stefan

                Stefan,

I still have the scans that Thomas Hartmann sent to me that enticed me to buy them from him. Yes all three were taken in front of the Lager Fuhrer barracks. Mr Hartmann still claims that he sent them but I don't think he did. Nothing I can do since he dealt with me off ebay. If I ever get posted back over in Germany there will be a few folks I will visit that ripped me off. Thanks for providing the additional information on your Great Grand-Father.

Here is a little grouping of documents that I recently picked-up on a German Paratrooper POW Uffz. Otto Jaeger captured 3 September 1944 and spent time in the French POW Camp, Maubeuge, France and then sent to the USA spending time at POW Camps from 15 Apr 1945 to 26 Apr 1946 in Huntsville, Texas, Jos T. Robinson, Arkansas, Florence Arizona, San Diego California, then repatiated and Discharged at Munsterlager, Germany on 21 Feb 1948
