                      Hello everybody,

Recently I bought a nice Landjahr Ausweis and I'm trying to find out where the person it belonged to lived, but I can't figure it out. Is someone here able to read the place where he lived?

                      With kind regards,

                      Koen.

                        It is "Duisburg - Walsum"

                        http://www.duisburg.de/leben/die_sta...lsum/index.php

                        and "Duisburg - Hamborn"

Oddly the name Duisburg was mispelled both times on the Ausweis. It is written "Duisbrg". Having lived in Duisburg-Neudorf and Rheinhausen it got my attention.

Well, Pauke, the same “misspelling” stroke my eyes: But I think it’s no misspelling, it’s just an abbreviation: -brg represents -berg or -burg.

I agree with Trebes. Still today we often find such abbreviatons.
