    I hope that someone can help me. I´m trying to know the name of the oberst who signed a document for IAB. Th date is 22.12.41 and he was the Kommandeur of Infanterie Regiment 527 (298 ID)

    Someone can read the name?

        The only name that comes to mind is Wittstatt Christian,Oberst, Inf.Rgt. 527.

        But think it is wrong. Only a guess.

              Christian Wittstatt was Inf Rgt 527´s Kommandeur in 29.09.1941 when he was condecorated with the Honor Roll Clasp of Heer but I don´t know when he left the commanding and who was his substitute.

                        I read the same thing. I generally translate "Nachkommando" as a "rearguard detachment", not in the traditional military meaning of a small group of men holding off the enemy, but a small detachment left behind to deal with administrative matters after the main body of the unit has departed.
