On the back of a photo...

    Hi Guys
This is written on the back of a photo showing two Panthers on the Eastern front, I think I have been able to make out some of the words but making sense of the whole thing has eluded me so far, does anyone have any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance

      I will try it:

" Bis über die Achsen im Schlamm. Unsere Panzer rollen noch vorne. Typ: Panther, der
      kleinere Bruder von Tieger"

Till the axis in the mud. Our tanks are rolling forward. Typ: Panther the smaller brother of
      the Tieger.

          Hi Gerdan
Thank you, I'm pleased I got at least a couple of words right but I would never have got them all.
          Cheers

H.F.Sch. [= Heeresfeuerwerkerschule] Hörsaal Paucker [recte: Pauker]
            Hauptmann
            „Nicht wahr nicht“ also“.
            Heeresfeuerwerker[rei?]

            Hard to translate:
Pyrotechnical school – lecture hall – [Pauker is derogative for] teacher
            Captain
[The phrases in inverted commas seem to be some frequently used words of the teacher, something like:] isn’t it, is it? – well
            Pyrotechnics of the Heer

I think it is a place name in the eastern part of Europe. It can be that the name today is written in a different way.

Yup, he was a loader in a panzer. Wounded by shell fragments, they managed to get him to a field hospital but were unable to save him.

The standard "we're very sorry, we'll miss him, he was an exemplary comrade, etc." is all in there.

                          best

(edit: just as an aside, I'm not glossing over it because it's trivial and not important. It's just sort of a standard death notice letter from a unit NCO to the family/mother)
Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

The Feldpostnummer of the unit started as following:

                            Feldpostnummer 05600
                            (Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) 2. Kompanie Panzer-Abteilung 10 bei Kraftfahrkampftruppe 501,
                            (2.1.1940-27.4.1940) 2. Kompanie Panzer-Regiment 10,
                            (1.2.1941-11.7.1941) 3. Kompanie Panzer-Regiment 10.
