          Many thanks, Gran Sasso! Sorry, it aren't the greatest scans as I am not at home now. When I'll be I will make some better scans. I think "the Kesdei" is "und die Kinder"..

                          I am trying to translate a specific word in a letter written in 1940 by a Stuka pilot in describing a modern Batov department stoer in Otrokowice, Czechoslovakia. The context is as follows:

                          ... von Badeanzug bis zum Abendkleid, von ________ bis zum Rollschinken, von Sodawasser bis zum Schampus, ...

                          I translate this to:

                          ... from a bathing suit to an evening gown, from ________ to a breakfast ham, from sodawater to champagne. ...
