      Mr. Hritz,

Is there also any chance he can post a picture of the medal bar? It would be great to see his actual bar in colour and detail!

      Best regards

The owner has no interest in internet discussion forums.

I do not make copies of photos as it diminishes the value of the original.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

          Bob,

What about a picture of the medal bar? It would be great to see such a historical piece.

The medal bar has been posted in post #7. The owner has a clear large photo of Himmler wearing that medal bar.

I think, he was a chicken farmer. Personally, I was him. I could never wear my medals in public knowing that everyone around me, has been or currently in combat.

Himmler was given the Pilot-Observer Badge with Brilliants by Hermann Goering.

This may be the entire medal bar except for the West Wall. I can definitely make out the SS 12, NSDAP 15, NSDAP 10, and a couple of flowers wars.
I tried scanning the picture at 1200x1200 dpi, but, due to the printing process used it has not come out any clearer...

Here is himmler's medal bar, ribbon bar and case. I personally am not convinced by the runic device on the ribbon bar...it appears to be stitched on and the misshapen lower downstroke of the right hand Sigrune can be found on quite a few of the 'Ohio' parts bars.

Perhaps this ribbon bar is an addition? When the Americans found the medal bar in the box and photographed it, the ribbon bar was not there with it. Perhaps when Himmler ditched his uniform he ditched the ribbonbar also??
A shame we have no colour pics of the ribbon bar in this much detail!

Looks like Himmler got stuck with a fake. It happens to everyone that collects SS.

                                Hello again,

Where did this photo come from? Which unit captured it and what part of the reich was it found after the war! Too bad Hritz's friend does not want to/can't play, would sure be great to see this medal bar and case in living color!
                                Cheers,
                                Vince
