AV59709/ Control of the air was won.
After the German troops occupied the airport in France, they have been
convinced of the surety of the large scale bombing attacks with whom their
pilot comrades performed large scale operations to control the skies over France.

              Photo

              Hi Todd,

A marvellous collection, which I look forward to each day.

Some more info on the photo above, 1436, shows BMW R12 motorcycles from the Leibstandarte Regiment at rest in France 1940. The number plate SS-687 is an often photographed vehicle, seen also pre-war on the German Autobahn and also in action in Greece, 1941.

On the original is it possible to see the Kompanie number to the right of the rectangle placed under the number plate? This would be great to know.

              Thanks once again for sharing!

              Cheers
              Steve
