Pzkpfw Mk IV Number 321 image 1

Here's what I believe is a Pzkpfw Mk IV turret number 321. I have a couple images of this tank. Again, I'd like to have this tanks unit and perhaps eventual fate.

Here's a panzer numbered 601. I'd like the same info on this tank, unit and fate.

I dug out a few i got from the vet when photos werent worth squat

no numbers on the vehicle ican see....but check out the rabbit ear field scope sticking out the top....thats rich....maybe this is a commanders stug. All stug divisions had stug comanders, and i cant see anybody but them having a scope in every stug. Does anyone disagree? or...have any photos of stugs with the same type scope sticking out the top like this one has?

Well I haven't posted anything on this forum in quite some time. It feels good to be back. For your viewing pleasure, we have first, a Tiger with the number 223 on its turret. Could someone tell me what unit this cat was with and perhaps its fate?

                      It's #233. The unit is s.Pz.Abt.503 and it's a known/previously published photo.

                        Hi Rob,

Thanks for ther identification. What division was it with? I didn't think it was a new image. I saw that it was numbered 233, after I initially put it up and corrected my post. Can you help with the other tanks I put up?

John, s.Pz.Abt. 503 was an independent battalion and didn't belong to any division.

The Pv IV Ausf D (I think) seems to have fallen off a road in France and lost a track and is being recovered by another "D" number 331. In the third pic you can see a Pz 38(t) which if we assume it belongs to the same unit indicates either 7 or 8 PD as they were the only divisions operating Pz 38(t) at that time.

The tank numbered 601 is a Pz II and appears to be in Russia judging by the buildings. I'm afriad that I can't tell which model of Pz II it is but it is nice to see the rear escape hatch open, you don't often see that.

                            Hello John and Allen,

The Panzer IV's are clearly from 7. Panzer Division. 8. Panzer Division did not use such large three-digit tactical numbers in 1940/41. I have some photos of this series, too. On some photos, the division sign of 7. PD is clearly visible.
These and many other photos of 7. PD were and are sold on ebay in many exemplars. Don't think that the photo prints were made during the war. But when?
The Tiger photo also originates from this large convolut. S. Pz. Abt. 503 was attached to Armeeabteilung Kempf during the Kursk offensive. 7. PD was also with this Armeeabteilung. Bevore the beginning of the offensive, 7. PD and s. Pz. Abt. 503 had several trainings together.

                            Regards,

                            Holger.

                              Hi Holger, Allen,

Thanks for your help. So, you feel that these photos are post war copies?

Holger, I just wasn't sure about the numbers and neither was I brave enough to say that it looked like Rommel on the bridge !
