The largest photo I guess in photo album page size. The whole album is packed with the SdKfz's.

              Hi Mike

The symbol on your destroyed vehicle looks like the owl symbol for Beo. Abt 28.

              See www.wwiidaybyday.com

              Cheers,

                  Half track with flak

Here's a good shot of a half track with a quad flak gun mounted on it.

Nice thread, some good photos here. Does anyone have any of GD where the tactical symbols can be seen? I'm trying to confirm the symbols used through the war years from 17th (Motorcycle) Company IRGD, to Motorcycle Battalion then finally the Armoured Reconnassance Battalion. Any images would be helpful, cheers.

Thanks for those Derka, those are for the Motorcycle Battalion GD. Good clear images of the symbols. I can see that the first even shows the 'owl' on the side of the leading half-track.

The other symbols I am after are the ones used prior to this, for 17th Kompanie IRGD (until the beginning of 1942) and the ones used after this, for Armoured Reconnassance Battalion (from mid 1943 onwards).

An Sd.Kfz.231 with more like Reichswehr 3 color camouflage than the newer gray-brown scheme.

This Sd.Kfz.231 is interesting. It shows a broken sword and what looks like a "trophy- or scrap- number", which is usually found on Beute vehicles after the Westfeldzug. They are drawn after the destruction.

Won these two a couple of weeks ago on Ebay (note that these pics are taken from the Ebay site and thus still contain the name from the seller on them...didn't bother to scan them again and make new logo on them)
Both are taken in the Czech Republic if I am correct (from what I can see on the words on buildings).
