An Sd.Kfz.221 "Stroppchen" ( so I read but I'm open to suggestion... ). MG34 is equipped with AA sight.

Yes, the name is "Ströppchen" which is mainly in the area Cologne a nickname for small kid.

Thank you Christoph for your help, I appreciate it! "mainly in the area Cologne" suggests that this Sd.Kfz.221 is from A.A.4 (1.Pz.Div.). This photo came by itself and no backside writing was present, so this is a big help indeed.

Akira, I think you need to be careful applying that logic to determining the unit. Perhaps the vehicle commander came from the Cologne area but belonged to a non-Köln Auf.Abt.?

I should well be. I'd be dishonest if I wrote "the unit is A.A.4". I can write >> the "K&ouml;lnisch" name suggests that it may have belonged to A.A.4 <<.

I'll continue my search, as usual, for a definitive answer!
