          1st Zug on D-Day plus 14

Here's the front of an interesting image taken exactly 14 days after D-Day. Could someone explain what the letter F on the sign in the background might mean? I'll post the back of the photo as well. It has the names and ranks of the men in this Zug.

John...Thanks for posting your pics....your 3049 showing men near a camo bunker is really nice...not sure where in France they are but the are definitely not in Normandy as they would either have been captured, dead or beating a hasty retreat. They certainly are not in a high state of alert which I think they would be since the invasion had taken place 14 days earlier.

Mark, Great portraits...Thanks again for posting them. Here are a few more from me #925

                            Camo Bunker

Hi Bill, thanks glad you liked my pics. Perhaps the men in 3049 are in the South of France. If they were then they wouldn't have to worry about the Allies landing till August. Any idea what the letter F on the sign at the right of the photo could mean?

Mostly of the time it means "FUNK". They also had little flags or little signs with F. They also putted them in trees.

                                Camo Bunker

Hi thanks for the help. So it's just a sign pointing towards the bunker's radio room. That makes sense.
