I went to a Military show in Flonhiem, Germany yesterday and picked up some nice portraits...some were DK & RKT POW's with de'nazified decorations (see my POW thread). I picked up about 56 portraits with smaller snaps of some foreign Volunteers which I have yet to identify.

Hey Bill, what's with the breast eagle on the Waffenrock in post 2766? That is a very odd manner of attachment.

                      Bill,

Why don't you like RW photos? I love that stuff! It is the last frontier of German collecting that hasn't been faked to death.

Although he has scalloped Litzen, the tabs have piping on three sides which a general staff officer would not have. The collar and cap band appear to be Feldblau and not dark green. Feldblau collars were worn by officials. He is a high grade official.

Refer to Angolia's book, Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army. vol II, pages 157-160. There are several photos of an high grade admnin official with scalloped Litzen.

                          Bruce,

My thread covers TR and not RW..plus I never said I didn't like RW but that subject can and should be covered in a separate thread. Why don't you start one as I have some RW pics that I can post and plan on eventually selling them on E-Stand someday.

The photo with the Waffenrock with odd breast Eagle appears to be just sewn on that way...certainly not professionally done as it would be cut or folded and professionally sewn to the uniform. More than likely he did it himself
