The photo in post 13961 is very interesting because it appears the swaz of the breast eagle is almost entirely covered by the top edge of the pocket. He probably had the pockets repositioned but they didn't also move the eagle.

Thank you Bill. I didn't realize that was the significance of the ribbon. I wonder what the leather strap over his right shoulder is for?

They sometimes wore a black armband on the left arm as well.

The strap could be for a camera or maybe bino case.
