Bruce,
Manions...that's a blast from the past! It didn't take long before I got screwed by them....one time only and I never dealt with them again...except when I received a very large Oil Portrait painting of Hermann Goering through the Army Post Office...it wasn't mine but a friend of a friend who is a wine seller and owner of a vinyard in Worms Germany. He bought it from Manions with a price ticket of $20,000....I was kind of surprise as I didn't even know it was coming. Me being in a Military Organization and receiving an insured package for that amount had me kind of worried since my paycheck for a whole year wasn't much more than that. I had visions of CID knocking on my door. Anyway the buyer later found out the painting was a fake and when he tried to get his money back...his supposed friend "Manion" told him he had to bid on items in the auction totaling 20 Grand. Needless to say that friendship ended rather sudden. True Story!!
Getting back to your framed studio portraits..I used to find those at flea markets all the time...paid 10 to 20 Marks on average....I had over a hundred of them at one time...still have many of them in my collection and storage in the USA.

I like the early pre war photos. Especially before 1936.

Bruce,
Todd is correct.....I list locations of my finds when posting.... LaGleize, Flonheim etc. I picked up around 158 portraits at that show.
Todd thanks again for posting more of your pics.
