I understand the points. And it is possible most of the remaining KC holders would maybe prefere to be left alone. But still, dont think all people up in age just like sitting doing nothing, some might injoy the attention. I think its a good way asking
around if a living veteran is still replying. If so attach Money and a return envelope.

But actually it is over teen years since I last asked for a signature, not gonna start now. I have send some birthday cards, asking for nothing in return. Hoping
the Cards would bring joy.

Great to hear Tom that you don't sell their autographs and signatures.
I am sure they give you lots of pleasure.

However the internet is filled with autographs for sale...where did
they come from?

I too IMHO believe that unless you know the Veteran doesn't mind
you asking then leave them alone. Most just want to enjoy
the time left. But, that is what I live by.

But, its not up to us to tell people this.....let them
ask because if the vets don't want to be bothered their mail
goes unanswered or in the garbage.

Most vets I know don't answer to people they don't know except those
Vets who are published or have exposure to this kind of interface.

Perfect example was Misch until his health declined it was said he
didn't mind but I know three who wouldn't even acknowledge the
request.
