I have been a few days, the latest edition of "Knight's Crossholder of the Wafffen SS". In there is that there are no proven ceremony to Günther Lange. Should he not be removed from the list?

Regarding Lange it is not known whether he ever existed , nothing has ever been found about him or his RK award !!

                  There are many reasons why.

                  1) Last I remembered, Herr Rudorffer does not wish to discuss his past.

                  2) These people do not know you from Adam. It is impolite to continue to badger people for addresses of veterans. That is what DasTelfonbuch is for.

                  3) There are other reasons heretofore clearly stated in this thread.

Please respect these veterans, their past and their privacy!!

If you want to collect signed pictures of these veterans, pay attention to the Photo & Paper Items Table on this forum where several signed photos are for sale everyday. It's easy and cheap, and you can assemble a nice collection.

                        Good luck!

                        Douglas.

                          Hello Dave -

Sorry, no - not even close, actually. Still working on the research in between other projects. My health and finances took a significant nosedive, so things have really nearly stopped.

I have to seriously work on my German too, as it is pretty bad, so the translation of the books (finally got Ikaros!) is also taking some time.

I am hoping things look up finance and health-wise so I can plan a trip to Meldorf for further research, but I am not holding my breath.

                          - Cori

Agreed, as I've said before and why I give out no address info. Aside from being asked the same questions, the worst idiot inquiries being:

What maker number is your badge ?
Do you have anything you want to sell ?

But simple courtesy and common sense are rare among the current population infested with "it's all about me."

This Saturday I was on personal visit at Herr Carius. He's a charming man and very vital and positive person.
I spent with him an amazing hour and a half and it is for me an experience of a lifetime. I did an interview with him (with helping of my colleague - she knows German really very well). Interview I also recorded and, once processed and approved by Mr. Carius (correction), I will publish it.
He signed me some pictures for me and he also wrote the dedication with signed to the book for me.
                                I fulfilled a big dream......

Soon I will pay full access here and then I will send more!
