Really excellent pictures. Are you sending the reprinted pictures or are the men so generous?

I send maximum 3 reprinted photos to the veterans. 2 portrait photos and 1 special photo (if they have met someone special, for example Himmler). The rest I have got from the veterans.

Do anyone know if Theo Kroj was captured by the soviets during Operation Bagration? If so, how many years did he spent in prison?

That's great for you guys who received some photos from these veterans.

I collected TR items for some times and writing these veterans for their autographs has never crossed my mind until last month. So this is something new to me. So far I have written to about 7 veterans and haven't received any reply yet. Unlike buying some TR items online where you'll know or expecting these items to arrive, writing the veterans is different. You'll will never know for sure whether they have received it or they will reply to you due to their advance ages.

I'm sure most of you has never forgetten the first time you'd received your first reply. LOL I still have to make mine. Btw, is it always a rule of the thumb to enclose a photo reprints for their signature? Because in my case, I just wrote a letter and enclosed some money to cover up their expenses.. I hope you could share a few tips for a beginners like me. Thanks

Introduce yourself, tell them why you are writing to them, ask them to sign your attached reprints, thank them for taking their time. That's the way I use.

I always attach reprints and money to be sure they will send something back.

I hope you will get some replies soon!
