Very nice! But why does the WW1 Pokal look like it is rusting?

To add to Brian's comments. Goblets were made of iron from 1917 on - to conserve silver. A few were made of silver plated brass.

Ok, till now we`ve had pleasure to see:

                    one EP dated August 1940,
                    two EP`s dated September 1940
and quite a number of EP`s dated October 1940

Let`s hope to see many more ???

Even more important effect of that thread would be heavily edited pilots list expanded to maximum
Waterloo already done a great job.

Why so interested in 1940 goblets? Just for my curiosity.

My first post exactly. How many around.

Really wanted to see another early one as I have one myself.

Meanwhile Waterloo moved the date boarder pretty much.

                          Dear Chen,
a 1940 goblet is so interesting because at that time only the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross existed as higher bravery awards. There was no German cross in gold yet. The trophy was also awarded more sparingly than in later years of the war.
In all likelihood, every application for the Goblet was personally decided by H. Göring. He also signed the corresponding documents himself at this time.
                          Best regards

                              Waterloo, well said

Imagine we would be able in the future to extend the 1940 list TWICE...
It would make 150 pilots ONLY anyway... comparing to 13-15 000 EP`s.
We know less than 80 names right now.

Yes, those 1940 dated are special!
