@Tim: I can see the difference, but I did not mean "absolutely identical". I meant same design (not same die). Am I the only one that finds this remarkable?

@rocket: the picture dates back to a time when the badhe was not yours yet. Pic is from PetersenĀ“s site.
    Cheers, Frank

      Rich,

Re the para, thats now mine!
Regarding the type of eagle, both this type & the very early Juncker have 'Bug-eyed' eagles but are both unique designs when compared to the Assmann.

I have got the IMME in today & it will be interesting to show the 3 eagles together.......

Alan Beadle's a character, isn't he? He has this in his update of new items even though I think you got it some time ago?

Can't wait to see the pics of all three together.

          And... Bingo!!

A very nice para, Neil.. and an exact match to the Deumer wreath..I take it that its unmarked?
Any chance of seeing the reverse, bet it has the same setup as the early Deumer PB's...
          Warmest Regards ... John

Rich, I wonder how many have been let down by it being left on Beadle's site??

John, perfect match for both the Pilot & Observers badges by the same maker.

For anyone not conversant with the theory that these unmarked badges are made by Deumer here are my pointers:

Hinge assembly very similar to heavy MM Deumers & in some cases has the shaved/milled area behind the hinge

Pin in some cases have a partial flattened spine

Catch is very similar to the heavy MM Deumers

Lastly in my own opinion the eagles share a very smooth finish, unlike other pieces.

            Regards,

            Neil

MM area IMME, note the similarities in edge finishing.

MM area Deumer, note very smooth finish to edges & to the eagle metal itself.

Thickness of the top of the eagle Deumer, note thinner & the very noticable finishing angles.
