S&L Para Badge - Opinions Please!

I agree towards a certain degree with what you say Frank, but iff we do not trust their (S & L) statement then we can't simply trust any statement from former German producers. We must be consequent on this.

So true, Stijn. I always listen but never believe without checking it further. These people are known to be wrong. Either they want to cover up something or they know zilch but still love to give SOME answer instead of admitting "I do not know, I am just a guy who was Director Toilet Paper yesterday at that other company and who is "Director Medals" now at S&L."
These guys are salesmen with no historical relation to the company they currently work for. They could care less. Sad, but often true.

If you actually have the luck to talk to a family member of the manufacturer, things get even more complicated. They feel you want to attack "Opa" and want to write a nasty article about "the Nazi company" in "Der Spiegel."

Anyway, good research and a honest try to lift up the curtain Stijn ............ it´s on the way, but until today (at least for me) not on the finishing line.

I hope, that I`ll be able to make a "side by side" compare with one of the fakes in the near future.

BTW, is anyone able to access the commercial webside of "derafrikaheld"? Try it!! There are 4 FJ badges for sale at the moment. I´ll not believe, that the "S&L" related one, which he has for sale, is the one and only original beside all the other fake FJ bagdes there.

@Alan: There is a good possibility the ground combat badge was made by S&L, but it could also be made by Juncker. I will look into this deeper at another time and when I get the chance to handle one.

(I'm going to lure you into this one) I haven't forgotten about the question raised here. I am also sitting on a Juncker Ground Assault Badge, that may be S&L. What was your premise that led you to your 'hunch'?

Dear Mark,

It is a long topic. I think in my book (which you should also have by now) I clearly state, show and prove that this setup was used by Steinhauer & L******252;ck. These explanations and the evidence connected with it served to tie a certain type GAB (and PAB) to S&L. Nothing more, nothing less. It does certainly not mean that ALL other badges with that setup, like your LW Ground Combat badge, were made by S&L. That setup was used in very similar form by Juncker on some of its zinc badges. Your air gunner and Juncker marked zinc Heer Flak badges show that. So it would need a totally new approach to determine if your LW Ground Combat Badge was made by S&L or Juncker. For me, and for now, since I have not deeply looked into those LW GCBs yet, both makers are a possibility.
