Hmmm i have to say Mr Niemanns wording doesnt describe any of these pieces as being war time just from the estate of Allerberg, The devil is in the detail gents!
I think passed away.
Lot of controversy about him and his claimed RK,timing, number of kills claimed
not verified by Records etc etc Do a search .Been done before.
Definitely NOT Germanys highest scorer.Others, one of who WAS RK winner.
Seiler
There is no proof this was A.´s stuff: The signed fotos are around, for cheap money.
Allerberger wore a EKII only, thats correct - but if they cannot get him a KC, how should they find the ribbon only in spriing of 1945, to add to the EKII???
Phil is right. At the book J.Allerberger does NOT wear the RK in this particular photo. Also in the book (at least the edition i have) there is a photo of his award document to the sniper badge (among others except the RK) 3rd class with the badge itself. The badge is different than the one shown on Niemann and Allerberger never wore it as far as i remember (for obvious reasons).
i think that this Konvolut ist not real from Allerberger.
2006 i visited him and he said that he became only a Document
with all 3 steps from the sniper badge but no Badges. The Division had to this time no badges. Only the 3.rd step he got later or not ?
Be thankful you missed out on this piece. The sniper badge is a well known fake produced in Germany in the 80's. Documented in Cyrus Lee's book on reproductions.
best wishes,
jeff
You say that this sniper badge is fake, but you don´t say: Because....
You only say that it is fake because in a book put this, but you don´t post photo of the book because you don´t want.
Can you compare this sniper badge with an original example so that we know what are the differences.
No other collector's opinion on this controversial badge??
