The gorget is a fake. Real ones weren't stamped DRGM and the chain links aren't even oval. Did your dad by chance do some business with a man named Lowell Jackson, owner of Pieces of History out of Cave Creek, AZ?

Hi Jeff,
The Commemerative Flyer's Badge is very rare and heavily reproduced. I'd like to see a close-up of the maker's mark, but I have strong doubts about this example. The hinge looks off for a genuine Juncker and the peacock coloured burn marks around the hinge area are a common trait of hot soldering on repros.
Re the pilot's badge, it looks like the obverse and reverse of two different badges have been imaged. The obverse is of a Pilot-Observer Badge (gold wreath & silver eagle) but the reverse appears to be a Pilot's Badge (silver wreath & blackish eagle). The reverse image to me indicates the Pilot's Badge is a reproduction. If there has been a mixup in the images, a reverse shot of the gold/silver example is required to determine authenticity.
The B&NL Air Gunner's badge is at best a genuine badge with a replaced hinge/pin/catch system. The rivets don't look right for B&NL although the wreath does have some features of genuine B&NL wreaths.
Re the Assmann (A) marked Observer's Badge, I think larger images would be useful in this particular case! I can't tell whether it is a genuine badge with the hinge/pin replaced or one of the recent "dip wreath repros" which has been marked up for Assmann (I'm leaning towards the latter though). Unfortunately the "dip wreath repros" use an Assmann style wreath, which in this case confuses the issue!
