Hi Jeff, the gorget looks good. I own one of these. The "Nordic SS" badge is a fake however. These were made unmarked. There is an article aout these badges on the main page of this site I believe.

Hi Jeff,

The two numbered tank badges are fakes not even close to originals.

All the EK 1s shown here are fakes as well. Check out the catches, typical repro catches. Also the L/21 screwback. L/58 was the only maker who marked the screwplate.

OMG all the crosses are fakes? WOW!!!!

They are such nice pieces also-

Well at least the Gorget appears to be real.

Any idea as to the 50 yr service medal???


Any Idea if there is a value to the fake crosses?

Hi Jeff,

The 50 yrs Treudienst-Ehrenzeichen looks ok from the distance, but better pics are needed.

The very first EK 1 shown, the bevelled one, looks also ok. I was referring to the L/17 marked fakes when I was talking about the typical fake catches. Sorry for being not precise.

All all costs, the set should not be broken up or sold to an anonymous source, for obvious reasons. I for one would think about making an offer on the set... and perhaps making a donation to the forum....

But this is of course up to Herr Rippa. Let's keep this set together, and in safe hands, though.

Ralph- I would like to sell them- I am NOT a collector of milatary items nor do I have the time to keep up - I am sure some of these items are real- but it appears most are repros - per the expert corner- I REALLY DO APPRECIATE the input as I do NOT know much about them.

I dont have 20 kopeks,

But I do have a start of $300 plus whatever the diamond thingy is worth. Maybe someone can put a value on the known fakes for us; perhaps visit some repro sites and see their price tags. I know some of the repros can go for a bit more.
