        Hi Ian,

Very nice zinc Katz & Deyhle. I'm wondering about that packet, though. I've never seen a font quite like that before. Is that packet marked to Katz & Deyhle? Very interesting!

You may want to post that packet in the Cases and Packets sub-forum.

        Best regards,
        Tom

Here is my Katz & Deyhle packet for comparison:

Good evening Tom, I picked up the Katz & Deyhle marked packet cheaply (I assumed it was a reproduction although it wasn't mentioned either way) as a neat way to store the zinc award.

Thanks, Ian. That clears my head and I am less confused now.

Ah, yes! Not a good one. Thanks for posting that, Ian.

I am re-posting the fake Katz & Deyhle Luftschutz packet so we don't lose a good reference if Ian's pictures should happen to vanish from the thread.

Fake Katz & Deyhle packet front and inset at bottom shows the fake Katz & Deyhle maker markings from reverse of packet:

                      I don't pull my photos

A better idea of the real colour ..

                        and so on it goes....

                        Hi guys,

8 pages and 115 posts about a Luftschutz Medal. Wow!

I'm afraid, though, that we have drifted off target and it is all my fault.

So to get back on course I will ask:

                        1. Does anyone else have a '134' marked Luftschutz Medal or even remember seeing one?

                        2. Does anyone have any kind of German medal with a '134' marking on the suspension ring?

                        3. Does anyone have a Floch fake Iron Cross that is '134' marked?

                        Best regards,
                        Tom

Thanks, Ian. I wasn't suggesting that you would pull the pictures; only that pictures uploaded using an outside source have a way of mysteriously vanishing. I've had many pictures disappear that I never removed and that is still a mystery to me. As far as I know, posting through the forum's upload service is the only way to insure that the pictures will remain.

That coloring actually reminds me of an original JFS Infantry Assault Badge packet.

                          Best regards,
                          Tom

Hi, guys! As everyone knows, Luftschutz medals made of zinc or alu. Here I found an tombak example that is positioned as the original.
                              Any opinions?

Its made from CUPAL; thin layer of copper on front and back with thick slab of aluminum in between. You can see it well from the side shot.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
