Being too optimistic then it comes to collection german militaria is very dangerous. If you are careful and suspicious you will end up with a better collection. Otherwise you are just fooling yourself and your wallet will have to take the hits.

Peter, I'm not the first day collect german militaria, know that it is dangerous, so I am very careful. Otherwise thanks for warning.

Hi guys,

I went and took some specs on some of my examples:

Example #1: unmarked, aluminum

43.98mm high x 38.93mm in diameter x 5.95mm thick and a weight of 12.1 grams

for clarity sake:

height = measurement from top of eyelet to bottom of medal

diameter = measurement from the nine o'clock to the three o'clock

thickness = measurement taken from center front to center reverse (thickest part of medal)

Example #2: unmarked, aluminum

44.44mm high x 38.72mm in diameter x 5.98mm thick and a weight of 12.5grams

Example #3: unmarked, aluminum

44.02mm high x 38.80mm in diameter x 5.97mm thick and a weight of 12.1 grams

Although this one looks pretty dark, it is aluminum.
