Steve, I think your eagle is like the top one. Sewn to a water patter smock like yours, IMO. The beak, swaz and claw details are the same.

John's is like the grey one on the bottom. Again, the beak, swaz and claw details are on the same. Mine also has the same backing "cover" on the rear. I have a few of these in grey on water pattern. John's is the first one I have seen backed in green. Very cool!

I don't think yours and mine on water pattern have the same backing "cover."

What do you think?

I think the last 2 you posted are identical to the one John posted and the grey one I posted as well. I do not think the one you just found at Beltring is the same. It looks more like the olive one I posted.

For me the areas in red are the key since I can't really see the beak clearly enough on yours.

Yep, I understand. I think we are talking about different things. You are talking about style, while I am talking about backing.
I was wanting to know( as was John) if his eagle ( #393) is a genuine smock eagle, and if so, is it like the two I posted ( #392/394) ?
