Here is a variation of the Grünmeliert eagle I have only encountered (to date) on late water pattern smocks manufactured by Dietzel.
What makes this variation different than the earlier splinter printed over GM is the unique thread pattern in darker colors. Also, I have never seen these with the "rain" pattern or green camo printed on them, only the brown camo pattern.
Anyone else have some thoughts on these?Attached FilesWilli

Are you sure the eagle above comes from a Dietzel smock ?

If not, how did the Breast Eagle on a jumpsmock as used in 1940 look like. If its has been already posted then please give me the URL of the photo...Attached FilesEsse Quam Videri

What if the darker colours are merely due to a weak over-print in green camo ? Look at a "splinter over olive" smock to see how the green splinter changes the colour of the individual threads of the GM material when viewed under magnification. Just a thought.
