                                Giday Eric,

Thank you for posting a scan showing a portion of a page from the flugbuch of a glider pilot involved in the attack on the Veldwezelt bridge.

I note with some interest the entries for subsequent flights to Aalborg etc.

As you and others may be aware, some of the glider pilots of Sturmabteilung Koch were later assigned the task of resupplying the mountain troops in Norway. On 28 May 1940, 21 Ju 52's towing DFS 230 gliders flew to Aalborg, in Denmark. On 31 May, 1940 the Ju 52's and the DFS 230 gliders flew on to Oslo/Gardemoen, escorted by Me 109's. On 1 June, 1940 six Ju 52's and the DFS 230 gliders flew on to Drontheim. For various reasons the mission to supply the mountain troops was subsequently abandoned.

Listed below are the names of the glider pilots assigned to Sturmgruppe Stahl:

Bösebeck, Egner, Flucke, Fulda, Opitz, Schubert, Staubach, Stoffel or Winkler, Stuhr, Wienberg

Of these, I know that Egner, Fulda and Opitz were among the 21 glider pilots chosen for the mission in Norwary. So that I may add another name to my list of glider pilots involved in this mission, Eric could you please tell me the name of the glider pilot whose log you have shown above.

                                All the best,

                                Ian
