                          Hi everyone:
Thanks for the great photos we´re discovering!
Will, you have posted some fantastic photos showing Ramcke (#705 and 706). They were taken at the Morbihan coast (Brittany), specifically in Damgan beach, in May 1943. Generalleutnant Ramcke was inspecting the manoeuvres of the 2FJD. The first photo is rather interesting because of the DD helmet worn by the FJ. It was rare at that stage of the war.
The photos belong to a wider illustrated report. Some of them can be seen in Jean-Yves Nasse´s "Green Devils" (page 125), Chazette´s "Fallschirmjäger. Les parachutistes allemands en France, 1943-145" (pages 39 and 40). Kurtz´s "German Paratroops" shows another picture (page 20)but is wrong captioned. According to him, they are FJs somewhere "in the northern Germany".
                          Best regards. Óscar

                            Hi Oscar,

Thanks for the detailed information I do have more pics from the same location which I will post here. I'm not to old to learn from a teacher!! Always nice to share information with others. Here are more pics of General Ramcke doing an inspection trip to the 2nd FJD in Brittany.
