Fantastic find! This photo is unknown to me but it is so great that I can not believe it was hidden for so long (if). Is there some more of this series? Is it possible to see the photo without the caption, I would like to see details of the truck, possible markings or license plate...

This soldier died on Vassieux en Vercors during the battle against the resistance.
You can see, his grave and his name on a book about this battle (lost during the fights). On the german document it is written for the location : VASSEUR but there is no village thith this name in France (just a mistake) and how the book and the date of died prouve it, The soldier died in Vassieux during the landing of the paratroopers.Last edited by christof; 09-12-2008, 08:28 AM.Comment
