Werner : I don't know and I don't believe such official order has existed. The mix of Lw and Heer uniforms or items result of the transfer in the Heer and the arrival of new troops, in order to form the Fielddivisions in the "44 model infanterie division" (3 regiments, etc....). Often, the Lw men kept their old uniforms, sometime with one or few new Heer items.

      Field Division HBT Straps

Anyone know if the plain green HBT yellow or red piped boards were ever issued with the splinter ground smock? These were the HBT green straps that were usually issued on the German Luft and German Army HBT tunics.

As for the boards on the splinter they have always been on the jacket since day one, all are unissued.

Can you show us more??? Would love to see the sleeve buttons...

John, They wore whatever straps were available, so if you have green HBT straps they would work fine on a FD jacket display, as would any wool straps.

Werner, I agree with Luft76 about the order; we may never really know for sure.
          Regards,
          John

Someone mentioned Luft HBT straps. Here are both green and blue-grey sets with flight/FJ branch piping. For the respective color HBT jackets, but they look nice on GD jackets as well.

To present a few variations, here are back views from 4 matched sets. The left two are backed in HBT, while the two on the right are backed in wool. The one on the far right has the very late style of backing construction, made from several pieces.
