Repo Helmet made using a CKL71 4054 Shell
This is a Repo Helmet made using a ckl71 Batch 4054 Shell according to the Seller who is a Forum Member. I bought it based on his description and reputation. My Question to the Forum is the Shell Authentic? I have my doubts because I expected to see clear indentions in the inside rim roll.
His description:
Here are pictures of a restored "ckl71" FJ Winter Camo 'Flared Rim' Helmet with a 1st model olive green cloth helmet cover, which is the style worn during the "Kreta" campaign.
The helmet itself is an original 'Flared Rim' FJ Helmet, which had the batch number 4054; it has the ORIGINAL set of four steel slotted helmet bolts. Some of the original textured feldgrau paint remains, while an additional coat was applied, along with a winter white camo finish (that has begun to yellow with age) to the exterior. The liner was a professionally ordered, custom-made replacement; the pics are too good, but it is a size 60. The chinstraps are Czech-made 'COUNTERFEIT' copies that utilize ORIGINAL "PYRM" hardware. The cloth cover was also a professionally ordered, custom-made piece sewn with 100% all natural cotton thread; it is spot-on to an original.
