He as killed at the age of 40, same age when I bought it. His dark eyes reminded me of my grandfather. My grandfather was the son of Volkduetsche from the Ukraine.

          Here's one of my favorites

          Michael Wieland
. He served first with s.Pz.Abt.504 and then Pz.Abt.215 (later Pz.Abt.115) of the 15.Panzergrenadier-Division where he served as a self-propelled Flak crew member and most likely vehicle commander of a SdKfz.7/1 and then Flakpanzer IV Möbelwagen. He died in Holland on 1.November 1944 while fighting in the Battle of the Peel Marshes. It's a large photo and takes up almost 3/4 of the inside front cover of the Soldbuch!

A recent pickup but already a favorite from my small collection!

This is Hauptmann Josef Potthoff from art.reg 254 in the 254 inf.div. He was awarded the EK1 during the summer of 1941. The 254 inf.div was stationed on the northern front (1941-44), the southern (1944-45) and Czechoslovakia (1945).

Latest addition and one of the reasons why I bought it. Hauptmann Hans Bambey - Flak-Rgt 153 - DKiG.

Aha, so you are the one that did buy that fine booklet Kevin.

Congratulations with that buy, a great catch.

I am sure that there are enough WAF members here that are interested to see the rest of that booklet too, as it is not only a nice uniform photo.......!

                  Best regards

                  Eric-Jan
