Another shot of condemned. Pebbling looks a little sparse up near the top of the cross where it would not be subject to wear... My observation on that. Those swaszi's look perfect. I don't see any evidence of hand cutting.

Imagine all the ones that did not just fall off but were hanging open. If it were me, I would have bent the catch.
I do not know if CEJ's were more prone to falling off uniforms than Deumer, Shickle or Meybauer.
"Although the use of "goose step" had been waived, the Legionnaires nonetheless were soon sweating profusely and many lost their hard earned decorations during the snappy parade. A special detachment was formed to follow the parade and collect the glittering and often trampled crosses."Last edited by Brian S; 06-17-2014, 12:47 PM.

This is just about the nicest photo of a disc I have ever seen. Look at the wave action just to the left and into that swaz. If your disc has that distinctive feature, and you'll have to play with the lighting, then it's either a Juncker or an extremely well made copy. Doesn't matter if it's gold/silver/bronze, it's the die.Attached Files

I can't say for sure. My waves are at 3 o'clock and a bit dark. Here's the best I can do with yours and can't see it well enough.Attached Files

For purposes of comparing hinge/clasp I would stay to bronze CEJ crosses. I would not bet all crosses are equally constructed in terms of hinge/clasp in comparison of bronze to silver.
all manufacturers up to Meybauer have used the same needle system when spain cross. And especially Juncker has always been the same, even with gold, silver, bronze. Whether with or without swords. I have all in my collection. And for my book I have seen many hundreds of Spain crosses. And it's always the same system. In particular, the need to always be the same with CEJ, the L/12 are always the same with the CEJ and without hallmark.
Parrade and drop the crosses, what? what? what? I hear do not really know what's wrong with you?

Hi Sammler,
