    Hi Sepp,

You weren't the only fooled with this one. It appears on Pg.397 of The Iron Time.

    Best,
    John

Hi to all! Going into some videos I had on my PC, I found out a German war newsreel in which it described the awarding of the Ritterkreuz to Kapitän zur See Friedrich Böhme (August 26th, 1944). I though it would be nice to have some of the captures here, since this thread intends to be a reference (when possible) place for crosses.

Friedrich Böhme was captured by American troops in 1945 and handed over to British forces. He was released in 1948 and died in 1989. At the moment he got the KC, he was on active duty as Einsatzleiter der Marine-Kleinkampfmittel in Frankreich.

        Regards,
        Sepp.

A b/w photo of Oberst Helmut Lent's Ritterkreuz formal award document. This is the first frontal image I've ever seen of the doc, so it's nice to share it here

          Regards,
          Sepp.

That is nice to see as I have only seen a picture of his 'Vorläufiges Besitzzeugnis' (a temporary award document) of his RK 1939. Thanks for sharing !

Thanks Chen, but I have the same picture as you I had never seen a frontal photo, just the three documents all together. That's why I posted that pic of Lent's document.

Hi guys! I was told by Tom B. that Skorzeny got his wartime RK stolen by an American GI, in 1945. The cross shown at the funeral pillow is a replacement one, according to Tom.

While searching more here on WAF, I learned that his original cross made its way back to the US, and that the veteran later sold it. Now it's in the hands of Wolfe-Hardin, but I can't get a quality photo of it. Just this...

Anyone has any better image of Skorzeny's wartime KC?

                          Is it the same cross?

                          Or is it just me...
