      Hi Sepp ! Yes, after looking closer at his Miniature medal bar I think I do see a u-boat badge. If we could ID the others near him it might get us started. All my Kriegsmarine contacts have passed away. Hans - Georg Hess (RIP) would have known Hardegen is just to elderly to contact (100 years old) about such things. I will give this some thought...maybe I can think of someone who can help. Tom

          But the information that this picture was made at Dönitz' furnal is very interesting.
          So the searching has a direction....

          It is Karl Keil (post #916)
