Not me... I wanted it but it must have been sold out of ebay as the auction had been cancelled and the dealer is not replying to my questions...

Guys, no I was not aware of any Cao-dai beret on evilbay! I probably would not have bid on it anyway unless it was the version with the silver bullion flash. That is one that I still need. I am surprised that one of you did not bid on P Muraldi's erdl camo beret though! Or did you? Jeff

Not guilty on both counts your honour.

There is a worn example that just oozes class in California (ERDL)...if i ever get any money together again that is next on my list.

Speaking of ERDL here is a set that I actually had for sale at the recent SOS, no takers though. I bought this set at a military show that I used to run I think it was about 12 years ago. The dealer had just sold 2 OG-107 shirts with the exact same patches on it to another collector who didn't have the funds to buy it all. I never did any research on this soldier but always thought it was quite unique with the flag patch. I don't know if this was a party type of suit or something else. All of the patches are name made. 9th Inf Div patch. Notice the original cloth used for the backing was probably a khaki material, now faded. Jeff

I remember the ERDL set well. Have you seen the OG-107's since?

                      Hehe once again, nice berets!

I have picked up this one a few weeks ago.
I still don't know what unit it is...
Eagle Flight was Security Police, but not only...
You have eagle flights in the Marines, Army Avia et Special Forces.

The Totenkopf looks old, but not from the 40's, for sure !
The material is poplin and the beret is brand new (never worn).
But under the embroidery was sewn something that has been removed. It could be a CIB, LLDB wings or pilot wings. But no definitive answers...
The fact that there is a skull make me think of SF.

And I think that the totenkopt was added at the time due to the marks on the material.

                      Any clue???

                      NTS

PS : That was not a Cao Dai but an early ARVN beret on ebay!

                        Hi Jeff

no it was a brown wool version, with a golden buillon thread.

                        Cheers

Patrick, I have not to date seen those two shirts that originally came with that ERDL set. It is too bad the group was broken up but what can you do? Jeff

                            Hello all,

seeing as we have had a few uniform diversions, here is a quick taste of a nice item i snagged in February.

A locally made flightsuit. It mimics the K-2B.

He is wearing a beret so its allowed

Shot without any equipment (for a change!) to show details.

                            Want to see any more?

                            Patrick.
