      In a catalog they don't show the back side, but we have a pictures of Godet's GC that came from prince Leopold estate and it's matching two acorn design and front design match to picture in Godet's catalog.
      Do you think they had one GC with four and one with two acorns or have you ever seen the cross that matching Godet's catalog front design and have four acorns on a back?

        That of the catalog was a bit of a bore. However I like the discussion in the older thread, and yes I am a 4 acorns theorist.

        Anyway I don't like two things on the cross presented here:
        1. The ring attachment is not that pretty work I would expect of a grand cross copy, especially from the front;
        2. The rust (but that can always happen).

        Also the ring attachment is different as the cross with two acorns that allegedly was from Prinz Leopold.

        Best regards,
        Michel

          Like it or don't like it, that is the cross prince Leopold wore, and I have a picture where it is visible how ring sits above the frame.
          Ring is a separate piece and could be attached in slightly different, most important is cast iron core and matching frames.

              Here is that picture, it's visible that ring doesn't deep into the frame like an award type, also on award type crown profile is much higher and at this angle it would have a shade on left side of the frame, while Godet's design is flat and wouldn't be noticeable. I don't know any other period made GCs with ring above the frame and flat design like that.

                    Looks like it's focused on his left shoulder more then on center.

                            This has to be in the top 5 of items Ive seen posted. Amazing. If my Norwegian blood hadn't been diluted by 75% maybe I would have spotted it for sale?

                                When you hold a Grand Cross in your hand it`s stunning how big it is

                                I am happy I got this rare cross offered and it is the "juvel" in my Iron Cross collection
